Charge for Working Group 1:
The goals for the working group are to understand the limitation of the current
detector and technology as radiation dose and luminosity increases, formulate
the requirements of the two phases of the upgrades, evaluate the technical
challenges, explore the advances in sensors and electronic technology, outline
a program of R&D to adress these challenges using promising technologies, and
identify areas in which the US groups have expertize and a strong interest in
participation.
