DPE1_5

This is an integration release of the software production tools for the CMS Pre-Challenge Production.
It is based on VDT 1.1.8 Release .
In order to facilitate deployment on the Grid, this release is split into DPE-client (packaged using Pacman ) and DPE-master suites.

DPE Client suite

DPE-client suite must be installed on the head node in all MOP Worker sites.
The installation should be visible to all worker nodes in the cluster.
  1. Install (or setup if already installed) Pacman
  2. mkdir <local_dpe_top> ; cd <local_dpe_top>
  3. pacman -get http://computing.fnal.gov/cms/software/DPE-download:DPE-client

Pitfalls:

DPE Master suite

DPE-master suite is installed only on the MOP Master site (currently Fermilab).
  1. Install the client suite as mentioned above.
  2. setenv CVSROOT :pserver:anonymous@cdcvs.fnal.gov:/cvs/cd_read_only
  3. cvs login
    (Logging in to anonymous@cdcvs.fnal.gov)
    CVS password: anoncvs
  4. cvs checkout IGT-tests
  5. cd IGT-tests
  6. ./testIMPLiteMOPDagGen.sh DPE1_5 postVDT_1_1_8_DPE_1_5 `pwd`/default-config/impLite-MOPDAG 1
    This will setup MOP/MCRunjob/IMPLite in IGT-tests directory and produce setup.sh/csh file.
Known problems:
  1. Default perl setup in system configuration at FNAL causes problems in the VDT installation.
  2. As reported mkgridmap_conf package in VO component of DPE-client fails to install because of missing /opt/edg/etc/mkgridmap.conf file.
    Fixed and tagged DPE_1_5_0
    To get the update do: 
    
           pacman -updateall
           pacman -get  DPE-client
  3. DPE-master installation instructions do not work outside Fermilab.
