LPC Trigger Mini-Workshop

Fermilab, July 11-12, 2007

Goals

One of the main focus is to review/understand where it stands in terms of L1/HLT triggers of trigger-able objects (such as JetMet, muon, E/gamma, tau, tracks, b-jets) and learn more and work on..... (for example how we can figure out efficiencies, etc.....). Focus is start-up and early running periods. We would also like to have reports on detectors/L1 and HLT trigger/DAQ commissioning and have discussion on how we commissioning/debugging/monitor triggers/DAQ.

This workshop is for mostly the US community for recruiting, collecting ideas and increasing involvement in CMS triggering activities. This is not to be interpreted as a part of sequence of critical CMS trigger coordination and physics coordination/online selection milestone meetings. But, of course, we are in communication with the organizers of the trigger coordination meetings for planning this mini-workshop and feedback and ideas from this workshop will be used as input for CMS trigger development. Ideas for tasks where individuals can make important contributions to the trigger are solicited from the trigger developers.

The US CMS community has been involved in many area of trigger activities and we would like to encourage this process even more. We welcome your comments, suggestions and if possible, your participation. Participation from all members of CMS is welcome.
