Computing at the LPC

Computing at the LPC is done at the UAF (Tier1) computing facility. At this site, you will find information about the computing facilities, instructions on how to get an account, tutorials on the basics of CMS software, a frequently-asked-questions (FAQ) page, a "How-to" page, containing user submissions with helpful hints on various software issues (look carefully towards the bottom of the left-hand menu to find these pages). If you want something added to these pages, please contact Hans Wenzel (wenzel@fnal.gov) and Sarah Eno (sceno@fnal.gov).

We request everybody computing at this facility to join the lpc-howto mailing list by sending a mail to listserv@fnal.gov with the subject line blank and containing "subscribe lpc-howto" in the body (without the quotes). This is a mailing list you can use to ask your fellow physicists questions. We especially encourage newcomers to use this list to help them get started.

We also have a offline working group here at the LPC to help you with your desktop and computing needs. Their web site can be found here.

Here we have links to information for user computing at the LPC.
